Endless Summer - Birmingham
Endless Summer is a multi‑duration timed running festival held at Catfish Lake near Birmingham, AL. Participants complete repeated 1 mile loops around the lake on a dirt and gravel road with a brief grass section and about 120 feet of elevation change. The loop is measured in miles and used for multiple timed durations.
Available durations:
- 6 Hour timed duration
- 12 Hour timed duration
- 18 Hour timed duration
- 24 Hour timed duration
- 30 Hour timed duration
- 36 Hour timed duration
At the start and finish there is a social area with continuous food and music and a constant aid station. Additional on site amenities include lake access, a misting tent, a slip n slide, and an overlook. Camping is allowed with a suggested 10'x10' footprint. Parking is provided at the Belcher Tract parking lot off 280 with a 0.8 mile walk or jog to the start and finish; shuttle golf carts or ATVs are planned for shuttling.
A Hang Pass is available to access the same amenities as runners without participating in a timed duration; supporters may attend without a Hang Pass. Each runner receives a tank and a sticker and other items as available. Top three male and female distances for each duration receive awards, and eligibility requires starting at the official event start. Specific distance awards are being developed, including a buckle for 100+ milers.
Swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, and floating are allowed but are not part of the official event and are done at participants own risk. Packet pickup and gear drop are scheduled at The Red Shamrock Pub on June 18. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
