Screaming Pumpkin is an organized running and walking event held on October 24, 2026, in Lower Glen Oak Park, Peoria. The event includes in-person and virtual options and benefits The Yellow Bear Foundation, a nonprofit focused on primary immunodeficiency awareness and research.
Courses start and finish along the boulevard in Lower Glen Oak Park. The main loop is used repeatedly for longer distances: the half marathon runs the loop twice, and the full marathon and marathon relay run the loop four times. One course segment passes through Springdale Cemetery. The course is marked with cones, turn arrows, and glowsticks approximately every 5–10 feet; green markers indicate the correct path and red markers warn of hazards.

Headlamps are required for the marathon, marathon relay, and half marathon, and encouraged for the 6.55 mile event. Aid is provided at a cemetery station with water and lemon-lime sports drink; energy gels are available for the 2 mile at packet pickup and on course. Finisher medals are awarded for the 6.55 mile, half marathon, full marathon, and marathon relay. Packet pickup is available at local pickup locations prior to race day.
