Screaming Pumpkin is an evening running event on October 24, 2026 at Lower Glen Oak Park, North Prospect Road, Peoria, IL. Courses start and finish along the boulevard in Lower Glen Oak Park and use looped sections of a 6.55 mile course for longer distances.

Distances available:

• Full Marathon
• Marathon Relay (4 Person)
• Half Marathon
• 6.55 Mile (10kish) Race
• 2 Mile Run/Walk
• Virtual Run/Walk with shirt and medal

The course is marked with cones, turn arrows, and glowsticks placed approximately every 5 to 10 feet. Green glowsticks indicate the correct path to the right; red glowsticks mark hazards and require caution. Headlamps are required for the full marathon, marathon relay, and half marathon, highly encouraged for the 6.55 mile, and not required for the 2 mile event.

Packet pickup is available at RC Outfitters (311 SW Water Street, FL-1, Peoria) and at Lower Glen Oak Park on race day. All participants receive a long-sleeve race shirt; full and half marathon participants also receive a Yellow Bear quarter zip. Headlamps and quarter zips are available for purchase during online registration and may be offered at packet pickup.

Aid will include water and Lemon Lime Gatorade at the cemetery Aid Station. GU Roctane energy gels will be available at packet pickup and at the cemetery Aid Station for the 2 mile. Finisher medals are presented at the finish line for the 6.55 mile, half marathon, full marathon, and relay. Overall awards are given for top male and top female in several events and for the top relay team. Post race food is available via a food ticket on each bib redeemable at Tony's On Wheels; additional menu items are available for purchase.

The event benefits The Yellow Bear Foundation. Timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing. Costumes are highly encouraged and Sparklee Body Art will provide services to complete Halloween looks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
