Screaming Pumpkin - Peoria, IL
Screaming Pumpkin is an organized running event on October 24, 2026 at Lower Glen Oak Park in Peoria, Illinois. The event benefits the Yellow Bear Foundation, a nonprofit supporting awareness and research for Primary Immunodeficiency. Timing and scoring are provided by ShaZam Racing, and the event is part of the Holiday Race Series.

Courses start and finish along the boulevard in Lower Glen Oak Park. The half marathon uses two laps of the 6.55 mile course; the full marathon and the marathon relay use four laps. The course is marked with cones, turn arrows, and glowsticks placed approximately every 5 to 10 feet. Green glowsticks indicate the correct path; green on both sides indicates two-way traffic. Red glowsticks indicate hazards and should be avoided.
Headlamps are required for the full marathon, marathon relay, and half marathon, and are highly encouraged for the 6.55 mile course. Aid is available at the cemetery Aid Station with water and Lemon-Lime Gatorade; GU Roctane Sea Salt Chocolate gels are provided for the 2 mile at packet pickup and at the Aid Station. Packet pickup is Friday at RC Outfitters and Saturday at Lower Glen Oak Park, and it closes at 6:00pm on Saturday.
All participants receive a long-sleeve race shirt. Full and half marathon participants also receive a Yellow Bear quarter zip, which is available for purchase during online registration. Finisher medals are awarded at the finish for the 6.55 mile, half marathon, full marathon, and marathon relay. Each participant has a food ticket on their bib redeemable for a hot dog or pork chop meal from Tony's On Wheels on race evening. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
