Screamin’ Goat 50k
Screamin’ Goat 50k is a "Grand Depart" style group run highlighting trail systems north of the notch. The course is approximately 50k (32 miles) and runs through Lisbon, Sugar Hill and Franconia. Surfaces include dirt roads, wooded single track, a few low-traffic road sections, and some snowmobile trails.
The event is self timed with results recorded. To have a result recorded, participants must use a GPS recording device such as a watch, inReach, or phone and submit their activity. Navigation will be required and a substantial portion of the route follows mountain bike trails.
This event is fully self supported. No crews, pacers, or planned support are provided. Participants may use public resources along the route, including stores, water sources, or informal trail support encountered on course, but should not depend on those resources. Informal end-of-event standings will be recorded; the organizer notes this is not a race.
Basic safety guidance is provided: run against traffic on road sections and run single file where space is limited. Participants who leave the course are responsible for their own transportation back. Mobile service may be intermittent; attendees should have a bailout plan.
Camping is offered at 39 Breezy Hill Rd and 55 Breezy Hill Rd the night before and the night after; attendees should notify the hosts in advance. Registration is free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
