Monitor Merrimac Scout Strong 5K
The Monitor Merrimac District of the Colonial Virginia Council of Scouting America will host the third annual Scout Strong 5K at Sandy Bottom Nature Park in Hampton, Virginia, located at 1255 Big Bethel Rd. The event is presented by the Colonial Virginia Council of Scouting America, which serves youth across the local community.
The distance for the event is 3.1 Miles. The event format accommodates running, jogging, and walking and is described as a community activity for Scouts, families, and other community members. All proceeds directly benefit the Colonial Virginia Council of Scouting America.
Registration opens on June 4, 2026. The published registration fee is $30. To be guaranteed a race t-shirt, registration should be completed by July 22, 2026. An early packet pickup option is available on August 21, 2026 at the Colonial Virginia Council office in Newport News. Day of race packet pickup and check-in are available at Sandy Bottom Nature Park; carpooling is encouraged.
Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 12 and under, 13 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
