3rd Annual Scott Trot 5K
The Scott Trot 5K is an annual running and walking event held in Lewes, Delaware. The race takes place at the American Legion Post 17 on American Legion Road. This event is held in memory of Scott Peterson and serves as a fundraiser for the Blood Bank of Delmarva.
Participants can choose from the following event categories:
- 5K Run/Walk: A standard registration for those who plan to run or a combination of running and walking.
- Competitive Walking 5K: A category strictly for participants who walk the entire distance without running or jogging.
The event utilizes the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System for electronic results. Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, as well as the top male and female finishers in the masters category based on gun time. Additionally, chip-timed awards are provided for the top three male and female participants in ten-year age groups, ranging from 13 and under to 70 and over. There are also specific awards for the top three male and female competitive walkers.
Registered participants receive a unisex t-shirt and have access to post-race refreshments and music. Race photos are traditionally shared on social media following the conclusion of the event. Please note that dogs are not permitted on the course due to insurance requirements, and registration fees are non-refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
