Schweizer Fest 2 & 6 Mile Road Run, Tell City IN, August 8 2026
The Schweizer Fest road runs return for their 49th edition in Tell City. The event is hosted by Everbody's Fun and Fitness Center and takes place around the downtown area near 710 Fulton St. Both courses pass through the historic downtown section of Schweizer Fest and start on 7th Street near the fitness center.
Distances
- 2 Miles: fast, flat route through downtown; one hydration station at the 1 mile mark.
- 6 Miles: downtown plus a one mile 200 foot climb on Mozart; hydration each mile.
Course notes include a significant climb on the 6 mile route: a one mile, 200 foot vertical gain on Mozart with minor grade breaks before a downhill section to the finish on Main Street. Water stations are positioned along the 6 mile route, including points shortly after the climb and near the four mile mark. Participants should expect hot morning temperatures and high humidity typical of southern Indiana in August.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each five year age group and gender, with a special award for the top male and top female in each race. Registration fee for each race is $30. Shirt deadline is June 10. Post-race recovery services are provided by Advanced Rehabilitation, Inc.
A separate kids fun run of about two blocks (0.25 mile) is offered for children age seven and under. The kids run is free and does not require prior registration; race bibs can be picked up at Fulton and Main or at the starting area on event day.
