Everbody's Turkey Trot Fun Run
The Everbody's Turkey Trot Fun Run is an annual in-person event held on Thanksgiving Day in Tell City, Indiana. Now in its 14th year, the event provides participants with the opportunity to run or walk through the downtown area and along the local riverfront.
The event features two distinct distances:
- 5 km Fun Run
- 1 mile Fun Run
The 5 km route follows a path along the Ohio River. The course includes a brief incline before returning to a flat surface for the finish. The 1 mile distance consists of a six-block route located within the downtown Tell City area. This shorter course also includes a one-block incline. Both distances start and finish at Everbody's Fun & Fitness Center on Fulton Street.
Registered participants receive a unisex shirt, with a guarantee of availability on race day for those who register by the early November deadline. Medals are awarded to the top three finishers in various age groups, which are categorized in ten-year increments. The event utilizes registration fees and proceeds to support a local family in need. Volunteers assist on race day by directing runners at corners and staffing water stations.
Between November 19 and November 25, the organizer hosts daily challenges. Participants may also take part in an informal costume contest by wearing turkey-themed outfits. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
