Event overview
The Schock & Shivers 5k and Cold Water Challenge is scheduled for January 24, 2026 at Oak Grove Lake Park in Chesapeake, VA. The event is organized by Team Chesapeake, part of Law Enforcement United, as a fundraiser for the Road to Hope and related programs. The event also honors local officers who were killed in the line of duty. Chesapeake Police and Fire divers will be present for safety during the event.

Course, entries and amenities
The park features a trail-style path with a 1.5 mile loop; the race start is at a memorial placed in the park in honor of an officer who died in a diving accident in the lake. Packet pickup is available the day before at a local location and also on race day. Registration includes a runner bag and a finisher medal for participants; registrants before January 10, 2026 are guaranteed a race shirt. Virtual participants receive a shirt and medal by mail. Timing is provided by Tidewater Striders and there will be prizes for the fastest runners.
