Schlitz Park Run by the River 5K
The event is scheduled for September 10, 2026 at Schlitz Park in Milwaukee, WI. It features an evening 5K run along the Milwaukee Riverwalk, a 2 mile walk, and a family Kiddos 1K around Schlitz Park, an office park that formerly housed the Schlitz Brewery.

Proceeds support the Ignite the Spirit Fund - Milwaukee, an organization founded by local firefighters that provides mental, emotional, and financial support to first responders and their families. Past editions attracted over 500 runners and walkers and raised thousands for the local cause.
The event includes a Firehouse Challenge for Milwaukee firehouses and related groups. Each firehouse submits its three fastest members, and the team with the fastest average time wins a Traveling Axe sponsored by Ridgeway Woodworks; the winning firehouse name is engraved on the axe handle. Non MFD participants may join by providing their department name and firehouse for team entry. Registration fees apply for the main events and the Kiddos 1K is free with prior registration.
