Scheels BurliMOT Half Marathon, Relay, 5K, and 1 Mile Walk/Run/Roll
The event takes place in Burlington and Minot, North Dakota, over a two-day schedule in September 2026. The centerpiece is a scenic 13.1 mile half marathon that follows the Souris Valley on dedicated running and biking paths and finishes in downtown Minot.
Available events include:
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles following the Souris Valley paths.
- Half Marathon Relay (2-4 Person)
- 5K
- 1 Mile Walk/Run/Roll
- Virtual 5K
- Virtual Half Marathon
All runners registered for the half marathon, half marathon relay, or 5K by September 1 receive a custom BurliMOT shirt. Medals are provided to finishers in the half marathon, half marathon relay, and 5K. The half marathon and relay are chip timed and the chip is attached to the bib; the 1 mile is not timed.
Relay teams may exchange anywhere along the course; teams can include up to four runners and the first leg may continue on to finish the full half if registered accordingly. The halfway point is located by Dakota Bark Park, where parking is available; there is no shuttle to the halfway point.
Logistics include packet pickup in Oak Park on the day before the main events and race morning pickup at Citizens Alley, bag drop at the start locations with transport to the finish, limited shuttle service from the finish area to start locations, eight water stations on the half marathon course with Powerade at four stations, restroom facilities and porta potties along the route, and a post run finish area with food trucks, an outdoor bar, games and music.
