Hair of the Dog - Minot
Hair of the Dog is a multi-event community gathering held on May 9, 2026 at Atypical Brewery & Barrelworks, 510 East Central Ave, Minot, ND. The program includes several running and dog-focused events, plus vendor booths and activities that benefit local animal rescues.
Events and features include a timed 5K where dogs may accompany runners, a Beer Mile with specific drinking and running sections and age verification, a relay option for the Beer Mile, a Kids Donut Dash for children 12 and under, and a Wiener Dog Derby for dachshunds and mixes. Participants in many events receive event-specific items such as a signature mug, beers used in the Beer Mile, a Donut Dash participation medal, or a treat bag and bandana for dogs.
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at the venue and the morning of the event, with additional check-in windows for the Beer Mile and the Wiener Dog Derby. Awards are planned for top finishers in the 5K, the Beer Mile and relay, and the Wiener Dog Derby, with age-category awards for the 5K. Organizers note that proceeds from some merchandise sales will support animal rescues and recommend arranging a designated driver when alcohol is involved.
