The Trout Brook
The Trout Brook is a 10-mile trail race held at Willow River State Park in Hudson, Wisconsin. The course moves from wider park trails onto a variety of single track trails and includes hills, a stair climb, and views of a waterfall. An aid station with water, Heed, and individually wrapped snacks is located at roughly 4.2 miles; one portable restroom will be available at that location. Restrooms are also open near the start area.
The event is cupless; participants must bring a full water container or bladder and may refill at the halfway aid station. Bib pick-up and race materials are handled at the large picnic shelter near the visitor center and beach parking area. Park admission applies for those entering the state park and parking is available near the nature center and start area.
If a participant needs to withdraw, the organizer asks that the bib be removed and given to the race director or an aid station captain; leaving the course without notifying officials may affect future participation in the organizer’s events. The race director may delay, suspend, or cancel the event for safety or course concerns; refunds or transfers are not allowed in those cases.
The organizer describes an inclusive approach to event planning and requests participant feedback to improve accessibility and community experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
