Rab Scafell Sky Race 2026
The Rab Scafell Sky Race is a mountain running event in the Central Lake District based at Lanty Slee's Stickle Barn. The course covers 38 km with 2800 m of ascent on technical single track and scree, and includes a summit of England's highest mountain. The route is point to point and uses a newly designed circular line over Lakeland fells and through Lakeland valleys.
Entries are open to runners aged 19 or older. Entries are not vetted, but competitors must attest their competence to complete steep and technical terrain; the organiser may expel any entrant found to have deliberately misled about their experience or ability. From 2026 the maximum time allowed to complete the course is 12 hours.
Included in the entry fee are a fully marked course, two fully supplied feed stations and manned mountain checkpoints, electronic timing and tracking, a professional safety officer and supporting safety team, and a finishers’ Seed Bomb Medal. The event holds a ranking within Skyrunning UK and has served as a UK National Team qualifying race in the past. The race village at Lanty Slee's Stickle Barn hosts live music and event facilities on race day.
Optional extras are available through the entry system, including a race tee, branded goat bells for support crews, and post race massage with a charitable donation component. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
