Rab Scafell Sky Ultra : event details

The Rab Scafell Sky Ultra is a mountain ultra held in the Central and Southern Lake District on Saturday 6 June 2026. The route covers approximately 60 km with 4400 m of ascent and is based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn. The event has a maximum time allowed of 15 hours and a minimum age requirement of 19 years.

Course, entry and services

The course is run on technical, single-track trails and crosses central Lakeland fells, including the highest summit in England. Entries are not vetted, but organisers state that participants should be skilled and confident mountain runners and will be asked to declare relevant experience at entry.

Included with entry are a fully marked course, multiple fully supplied feed stations and manned checkpoints, electronic timing and tracking from Open Tracking, a professional safety officer and safety team, and a finishers’ Seed Bomb Medal. The event is part of the Skyrunner National Series for the UK and Ireland and is presented as a technical sky ultra distance mountain race.
