Rab Scafell Sky Race
The Rab Scafell Sky Race is a mountain skyrace held in the central Lake District. The course covers 38 km with 2800 m of ascent, following technical single-track trails across the Lakeland Fells and valleys. The route starts from Lanty Slees Stickle Barn in the Great Langdale Valley and includes the summit of Scafell Pike.
The race uses fully marked trails and two fully supplied feed stations with manned mountain checkpoints. Electronic timing and tracking are provided by Open Tracking. A professional safety officer and supporting safety team are in place. There is no vetting requirement for entry.
Cutoff arrangements allow up to twelve hours for completion. Finishers are offered a meal and a drink and receive a finishers’ Seed Bomb Medal. The event provides live music at the race base and a relaxed atmosphere in the Lanty Slees grounds.
Entries have specified prices and a closing date; optional extras are available through the official entry system, including a race tee, branded goat bells for support teams, and post-race massage with a local donation element. The race is part of the Skyrunner® National Series for the UK and Ireland and is ranked by Skyrunning UK. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
