Event Details

The Rab Scafell Sky Race is a 38 km point-to-point mountain race with 2800 m of ascent. The event is held in the Lake District, starting from Lanty Slees Stickle Barn. The maximum time allowed to complete the course is 12 hours.

The Course

The route is described as technical and is run on single-track trails from start to finish. It takes runners over Lakeland fells and through valleys, summiting England's highest mountain. The terrain includes scree.

Entry Information

The minimum age to enter is 19 years old on the day of the race. Entries are not vetted, but the event is described as a mountain race requiring runners to be skilled and confident to handle steep, technical terrain and meet course cut-offs. The entry fee includes a fully marked course, two feed stations with manned checkpoints, electronic timing and tracking, a finisher's medal, and safety support. The event is part of the Skyrunning UK National Series.
