SC Festival of Flowers Flower Power Fun Run
The SC Festival of Flowers Flower Power Fun Run is an annual athletic event held in Greenwood, South Carolina. The competition takes place in the Uptown area, with the central hub for activities located at the Uptown Fountain on Main Street. Participants follow a course that utilizes the Heritage Trail, a local outdoor route.
The event features three distinct distances to accommodate different preferences:
- 5 Miles: A timed competitive run.
- 5K: A timed competitive run.
- 1 Mile: A non-timed fun run and walk.
Registration and packet pick-up occur on the morning of the event at the Uptown Fountain. For participants who register before the late May deadline, a commemorative T-shirt is guaranteed based on the size selected during the online process. A limited number of additional shirts may be available on the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis.
The event includes a competitive element with cash prizes awarded to the top male and female finishers in both the 5-mile and 5K races. Additionally, age group medals are awarded to winners in categories ranging from 13 and under to 70 and over. Those completing the 1-mile fun run or walk receive a ribbon.
For safety reasons, pets are not permitted on the race course or within the event area. The races are held regardless of rain unless weather conditions are deemed dangerous by the organizers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
