Thanksgiving Day Race to Be Thankful - Greenwood, SC
The event is a community 5K run/walk held in Greenwood, SC, through the Gatewood neighborhood. The course is paved with rolling terrain and minimal traffic, and it passes ponds and wooded sections within the subdivision. The distance offered is 5K.
Registration options include an early rate of $25 and race-day registration at $30 payable by cash or check; children under 10 register free. Online registration closes November 23, 2026 at 6:00pm. Participants can register with or without a t-shirt; shirt orders require registration by November 9, 2026 at 6:00pm and a limited number of shirts may be available for sale on race day.
Pre-race packet pickup is available the day before at The Church of the Resurrection, 700 Main St S, Greenwood, and also on race day at the Gatewood Club. Awards are given to the overall male and female winners, overall masters male and female winners, and to age-group winners in ten-year increments. Post-race refreshments include homemade pumpkin bread, hot coffee, and hot chocolate.
This is the event's 11th year and it is organized by the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection of Greenwood. All profits are donated to local charities, including the Greenwood Food Bank, the Greenwood Soup Kitchen, United Ministries, Community Initiatives, and Pathway House.
