The Thanksgiving Day Race to Be Thankful takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026 in Greenwood, SC (29646). The event includes a 5K run/walk. Online registration is priced at $25 and ends on November 23, 2026. Day-of registration is available at a higher fee. Children under 10 may enter for free. Registrants can choose to include a T-shirt; T-shirt orders must be placed by November 9, 2026. This is the race's 11th year. The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection of Greenwood organizes the event and donates race profits to local charities, including Greenwood Food Bank, Greenwood Soup Kitchen, United Ministries, Community Initiatives, and Pathway House.
Course and logistics
The course runs through the Gatewood neighborhood. It is paved, with rolling terrain and minimal traffic, and passes ponds and wooded areas. Pre-race packet pick up is scheduled at The Church of the Resurrection, 700 Main St S, Greenwood, on the day before the race, and race-day packet pick up is at the Gatewood Club, 114 Club Drive, Greenwood. Awards include overall male and female, overall masters male and female, and age-group winners in 10-year increments. Post-race refreshments include homemade pumpkin bread, hot coffee, and hot chocolate. Past results are available from previous years.
