Race the Helix - Greenwood (September 19, 2026)
Race the Helix - Greenwood is the 16th annual event supporting the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation. It takes place at the Greenwood Genetic Center in Greenwood, South Carolina and includes in-person and virtual options.
Distances:
- 5K run or walk with chip timing; course accommodates strollers and wheelchairs
- 1 mile course for walkers, runners, strollers, and wheelchairs
- Virtual 5K
Pre-packaged snacks and water will be provided. Online t-shirt sales close on September 3; a very limited number of t-shirts will be available for purchase on race day on a first come first served basis.
Check-in and onsite registration are held on race morning from 8:00 am to 8:45 am. Preordered t-shirts and 5K race bibs may be picked up at the race on Saturday morning beginning at 8:00 am. Early pickup for preordered t-shirts and 5K race bibs is available at the Greenwood Genetic Center (106 Gregor Mendel Circle) between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
Awards include 1st place overall male and female and 1st place male and female in each age group: 12 and under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 plus. Registration fees listed are $25 for the 5K and virtual 5K, and free for the 1 mile walk. All proceeds benefit the Greenwood Genetic Center Foundation.
