The Sawmill Ultra is a trail running event in Lee Canyon within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest near Mt. Charleston, NV. The course is made of three loops run counterclockwise: loop one about 5.64 miles, loop two about 8.2 miles, and loop three about 4.3 miles. Solo distance options include 38.45 miles, 26.2 miles, 19.23 miles, 13.1 miles, 10k, and 5k.
A relay option is offered where each team member completes one loop and then tags the next runner until all three loops are finished. One full lap of the three loops totals 19.22 miles, or 38.45 miles when the course is completed twice by a team. All loops are run in the sequence of the 5.64 mile loop, then the 8.2 mile loop, then the 4.3 mile loop.
Event services include hot coffee, chocolate, and tea, plus hot food options such as casseroles, noodles, broth, burgers, hot dogs, and vegetarian choices. Free canned cold beer will be available for participants 21 years or older; ID is required. Virtual entrants may upload results and receive a mailed medal and t-shirt when registered at least two weeks before the event.
Staging and packet pickup take place at Blue Tree Group Camp near the Sawmill area. GPS: 36.3617, -115.635.
