Event Overview
The LVMPD SAR 5k takes place at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in Blue Diamond, Nevada. This outdoor event features two primary participation options for athletes and families:
- 5 km run
- 1 mile walk
The event begins with an opening ceremony, followed by the departure of the runners. Participants taking part in the 1 mile walk start after the final runner has cleared the start line. Registration is open to the public with individual age group and open categories available for both distances.
Venue and Schedule
The race is hosted at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, located at 6375 NV-159. Parking is provided for registered runners, and the parking lot opens two hours before the start of the run. Participants arriving before a specific cutoff time receive included parking, while those arriving later are subject to a park entry fee.
Following the conclusion of the racing segments, the event hosts a helicopter demonstration showcasing LVMPD Search and Rescue operations. There is also a rescue rally featuring various vehicles from organizations including the Clark County Fire Department, North Las Vegas Fire Department, and Community Ambulance.
Participant Information
Food, coffee, and beverages are available on-site for attendees. Packet pickup is organized prior to race day at the REI Boca Park location in Las Vegas.
