LVMPD Search & Rescue 5K
The LVMPD Search & Rescue 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run is scheduled for April 18, 2026 at Spring Mountain Ranch State Park in Blue Diamond, NV. The event supports volunteer search and rescue teams that respond to hundreds of missions each year across Clark County and surrounding public lands.
The event benefits four specialized volunteer teams. The Mountain Rescue Team performs technical rescues in steep and remote terrain. The Lead Climb Team performs lead climbs to reach and rescue stranded or injured climbers on rock faces. Tactical Emergency Medical Support provides critical medical care in challenging urban environments. The Dive Team conducts underwater search and recovery operations. These volunteers work alongside the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Bureau of Land Management, and the National Park Service.
Participants may choose from the following distances:
- 5K timed run
- 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk
After the run there is a Rescue Rally where attendees can meet team members, view rescue equipment up close, and see a helicopter demonstration, weather permitting. All proceeds benefit Friends of LVMPD Search & Rescue and help fund training, equipment, and mission support for the volunteer teams.
