Event Overview
The Sauk Valley Apple Cider Run takes place in Rock Falls, Illinois. The event is organized at Selmi’s Greenhouse and Farm Market, which serves as both the starting and finishing location for the participants. The course traverses the local countryside, offering views of farmland and rolling hills.
Runners can choose from the following event distances:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Virtual Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
The 13.1 mile course includes an elevation gain of 353 feet. It features specific segments such as the stretch from Dillon Home to Sinnissippi, which leads through a wooded area and across the Rock River. Another portion of the route includes the Walking Bridge Heading South, providing views of the river and the surrounding landscape.
Post-race activities are held at Selmi’s Greenhouse and Farm Market. These include the distribution of apple cider and apple donuts to participants. The venue also hosts music, food, and drinks following the conclusion of the races. Half of the event's proceeds are designated for donation to local charitable organizations within the community.
