Sauerkraut Bend The Wurst 5K Run
The event takes place on October 3, 2026 at King William Park in San Antonio, Texas. Hosted by Kiolbassa Smoked Meats, the second annual Wurst 5K is a chip timed, family friendly run through the tree lined streets of the historic King William District and along the San Antonio Riverwalk.
The course is a flat, paved loop of 3.2 miles. Water stations are provided at the halfway point and at the finish. Bibs must be worn on the front for chip timing. Overall and age group awards are based on chip time. Awards include overall male and female and first place male and female in each age category; there is also a prize for best costume.
Registration is limited to the first 400 in person participants. In person registration opens February 18, 2026 and closes July 2, 2026. Virtual registration opens February 19, 2026 and closes October 3, 2026. Fee structure listed by the organizer includes early bird, standard, race day, and virtual pricing with virtual entries receiving the same event swag.
Registration includes a custom race T shirt, a finisher medal, a Kiolbassa sausage with sauerkraut, and a cold beer for participants 21 and older while supplies last. Packet pickup details are to come. Street parking and nearby city pay to park lots are available. A post race celebration will be held at the park gazebo with music and food.
