Saturn Running's Racoon Rocket Run is a 7 hour time challenge along the River Thames where entrants choose distances from 3km up to 50km or ultra. Finishers from 3km receive a racoon medal and distance pins are awarded for half marathon and above.

The Racoon Rocket Run

The Racoon Rocket Run, organised by Saturn Running, takes place on 14 February 2026 at The Last Hop in Staines upon Thames. The event is held as a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose their own distance. The minimum distance is 3km; a full lap is listed as 7km (4.37 miles) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The course follows a stretch of the River Thames, is fully signed, and is mostly on well made paths and tarmac with a short grass section. Road shoes are suitable year round.

Runners can collect a racoon medal after completing at least 3km. Distance pins are available for half marathon and longer achievements. An aid table and drinks table are provided at the start and finish area with a selection of sweet and savoury items and vegan options. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan alternative on request. Toilets and changing facilities are available at the venue throughout the event and car parking is provided at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines. Number pick up is on the day at race registration. Headphones are allowed and participants should be considerate of other public path users.
