Course, facilities and rules
The route runs along a stretch of the River Thames and is fully signed. About 60% of the course is on a well-made path or tarmac; the remainder is grass and light trail that can become muddy. Road shoes are suitable all year; trail shoes may help on the softer sections. Aid and drinks tables are available at the start/finish of each lap with savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items. Finishers completing at least 3 km receive a medal; distance pins are issued for half-marathon and longer distances. Race HQ provides toilets, changing facilities and a cafe. Bag drop is unmanned and items are left at the participant’s risk. There is a pay-on-exit car park at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds. Headphones are allowed. Age minimums apply for some distances (for example 5 km 12+, 10 km 16+, half 17+, marathon 18+, 50 km and ultra 20+, time challenge 17+).
