Event Overview
This is a seven-hour time challenge event. Participants choose their own distance by running laps. The minimum distance is 3 km. A full lap is approximately 4.37 miles (7 km), which may be adjusted to 3.28 miles depending on course conditions. Distances can be built from these laps. A turn point for 3 km and 5 km is available within the lap for younger runners. Standard lap benchmarks are three laps for a half marathon, six for a marathon, and seven or more for an ultra.
Course Details
The course follows a stretch of the River Thames. It is fully signed, requiring no navigation. The surface is mainly well-made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section. Road shoes are suitable year-round.
Venue and Facilities
The event is based at The Last Hop in Staines. Toilets and changing facilities are available at the start/finish area from 8:00 AM. There is a bag drop area, but it is not secure. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines (TW18 4TP).
Registration and Participation
Registration is open for specific distances with corresponding age restrictions: 5 km (12+), 10 km (16+), half marathon (17+), marathon (18+), 50 km (20+), and ultra marathon (18+). A Time Challenge entry is also available for participants aged 18 and over. Walkers are welcome. Headphones are allowed.
Included Items
All finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a medal. Distance pins for half marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km, and ultra are awarded for those distances. All finishers also receive a standard or vegan goody bag.
Additional Information
An aid table with drinks, savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese, and vegan items is located at the start/finish of each lap. Participants can request a special running number for milestone events.
