The Valentines Run - North
The Valentines Run - North is a seven hour Time Challenge event on 14 February 2027 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Old Elvet, Durham. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is held under UK Athletics rules. It is described as a trail run along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and the course is fully signed.
Participants may choose their own distance within the time limit; the minimum distance to be an official finisher is 3 km. A full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) but the route may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on conditions. The lap includes 3k and 5k turn points to allow younger runners to meet UK Athletics age rules.

Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon and longer distances. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option on request. An aid and drinks table with snacks is available at the start/finish of each lap. Toilets and changing facilities are at race HQ; bag drop is unstaffed and items are left at the participant's risk. Pay and display parking is available nearby and runners are asked not to use the rowing club car park. Headphones are allowed and participants should be considerate of other path users.
