Remembrance Run 2026 - North
Saturn Running stages a Remembrance run in Durham, based at Durham Amateur Rowing Club beside the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. The event is classified as a trail run and the route is fully signed. It is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules.
The format is a 6 hour 32 minute Time Challenge that lets participants choose how many laps to complete. The minimum distance to be an official finisher is 3 km. A full lap measures 4.37 miles or 7 km but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The course includes 3 km and 5 km turn points to support UK Athletics age restrictions. A two minute silence will be observed and two minutes will be deducted from participants' running time.
Medals are awarded to finishers who complete at least 3 km. Distance pins are available for half marathon and longer distances, including Half Marathon, Mega Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra. Finishers receive a goody bag and a vegan option is provided. Aid and drinks tables are located at the start and finish of each lap with a range of savoury, sweet, fruit, cheese and vegan items.
Facilities at the rowing club include toilets, a bar and showers. There is pay and display parking in the city centre and nearby streets; runners must not park in the rowing club car park. A bag drop is provided but is not secure. Headphones are allowed. Members receive a lower entry price, guaranteed entry and a mini pin, and UK Athletics affiliated club members get a small entry discount.
