Event overview

Remembrance Run 2026 - North East is organised by Saturn Running and takes place on 8 November 2026 at Durham Amateur Rowing Club, Green Lane, Old Elvet, Durham. The event honours those who died in past conflicts and awards a themed Remembrance medal to finishers who complete at least 3 km. Members receive a reduced entry price of £10 less than full price, guaranteed entry and a mini-pin at events.

Course and format

The event is a trail run along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. The course is fully signed. It is run as a time-challenge format lasting 6 hours 32 minutes, during which participants may complete as many laps as they wish. A full lap is listed as 7 km (4.37 miles) though the loop may change to 3.28 miles depending on course conditions. A 3 km and a 5 km turn point are provided within the lap. Three laps equal a half marathon, six laps equal a marathon and seven or more laps constitute an ultra; a 50 km option is available. A two-minute silence will be observed during the event and those two minutes will be deducted from competitors’ recorded times.
