Great British Bake Run - Wales
The Great British Bake Run - Wales is a 7-hour time challenge event held at Dare Valley Country Park in Aberdare. The event features a flexible format where participants have full control over the distance they run within the time limit. The course consists of laps on well-maintained footpaths, making it suitable for standard road shoes. A standard lap is approximately 7 km (4.37 miles), though this may be adjusted to a 5.28 km (3.28 mile) loop depending on course conditions.
Participants can choose to complete various distances based on the number of laps finished:

- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- 50 km
- Ultra Marathon
Special turn points at 3 km and 5 km are available during the first lap to accommodate younger runners and UK Athletics distance regulations. An aid table at the start and finish of each lap provides a variety of sweet and savoury snacks, including vegan options and ice cream. The event also hosts a baking competition with prizes for different categories, and the cakes entered are shared at the aid station.
Finishers receive a themed medal that doubles as a fridge magnet. Runners completing a distance of a half marathon or longer are also entitled to a specific distance pin for their medal ribbon.
