SATURN Great British Bake Run 2026 - Staines-upon-Thames
This is a 7 hour Time Challenge held at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court, Clarence Street, Staines. Runners choose their own distance on a marked lap course that follows a stretch of the River Thames. The course is mainly well made paths and tarmac with a very short grass section and is fully signed. Road shoes are suitable all year.
Minimum official finisher distance is 3 km, which forms part of a lap. A full lap is stated as 4.37 miles (about 7 km) but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The lap includes 3 km and 5 km turn points so younger runners can comply with UK Athletics distance rules. Examples of lap counts: three laps equal a half marathon, six laps a marathon, and seven or more laps an ultra. A 50 km option is available.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a cupcake medal that doubles as a magnet. Distance pins are issued for half-marathon, Mega-Half, marathon, 50 km and ultra achievements. A goody bag is provided to finishers, with a vegan goody bag option. An aid and drinks table is located at the start/finish area with sweet and savoury choices and vegan options.
A baking competition will award prizes for best tasting, best looking and best effort cakes; submitted cakes will be placed on the aid table and eaten during the event. Toilets and changing facilities are available at the venue. There is non-secure bag storage at the start/finish and parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park in Staines. Headphones are allowed. The course layout may be subject to change after a health and safety review. Maximum entrants 300. Minimum age 12 years; runners over 45 km must be 20 years or older, and 18 and 19 year olds may run up to 45 km. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
