Saturn 7 Hour Time Challenge - New Herrington
This event takes place at Herrington Country Park and follows a timed format where participants have seven hours to complete their chosen distance. The course is set on public footpaths within the park and consists of a primary lap measuring 7 km (4.37 miles). Depending on ground conditions, this may be adjusted to a 3.28 mile loop.
Participants have full control over the distance they run, with a minimum requirement of 3 km to be recognized as an official finisher. The event structure allows for various milestones based on the number of laps completed:
- Half Marathon: 3 laps
- Marathon: 6 laps
- 50 km: Specified lap count
- Ultra: 7 laps or more
The course is flat and categorized as trail, utilizing the park's path network. Runners and walkers of all abilities are permitted to participate, provided they meet age-specific distance restrictions. An aid station situated at the start and finish of each lap provides a selection of sweet and savoury snacks, including vegan-friendly options and various drinks.
Finishers receive a themed medal and a goody bag. For those completing distances of a half marathon or further, specific distance pins are available to attach to the medal ribbon.
