SATURN - The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - North
This is a 7 hour timed running event held on a signed trail alongside the River Wear with views of the Cathedral. It is organised as laps, with a minimum distance of 3 km and flexible total distance according to the runner's choice and age rules.
Distances and lap information:
- Minimum distance 3 km as part of a lap.
- Standard lap 4.37 miles (7 km); course may change to 3.28 miles.
- Half marathon equals 3 laps.
- Marathon equals 6 laps.
- Ultra equals 7 or more laps; 50 km option available.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a bobble hat. Distance pins are provided for half-marathon distance and above. All finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan goody bag option available. An aid and drinks table is set up at the start and finish of each lap and offers a range of drinks and snacks including vegan choices.
Facilities at the venue include toilets and changing rooms. A bag drop is provided but it is unstaffed and left at the participant's risk. There is nearby free on-street parking or pay and display city centre parking. Headphones are allowed. Entrant limit is 300, entries close 12/12/2026, and minimum age is 12 years. Runners over 45 km must be 20 years or older; 18 and 19 year olds may run up to 45 km. Transfers and deferrals are available for a fee under the organiser's terms.
