SATURN - The Snow Globe Gallop Bobble Hat Run - North
This is a 7 hour timed trail event held at Durham Amateur Rowing Club on Green Lane, Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3JU. The course runs along the River Wear with views of the Cathedral and is fully signed. The route is described as flat and trail surface; a 3k turn point and a 5k turn point are provided within the lap.
The event uses a lap format and allows participants to choose how many laps to run. Key distance details:
- Minimum distance 3 km
- Full lap 4.37 miles / 7 km; course may change to a 3.28 mile loop
- 3 laps equals a half marathon
- 6 laps equals a marathon
- 7 laps or more counts as an ultra
- 50 km option available
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal and a bobble hat. Distance pins are awarded for half-marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra and are attached to the medal ribbon. All finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan goody bag option. An aid and drinks table is available at the start/finish of each lap with vegan options.
Facility notes: toilets and changing are available; a bag area is provided but is unattended and items are left at the participant's risk. Headphones are permitted. Maximum entries 300.
