SATURN TOO - Rocky at 50 Run - Wales
This is a 7 hour time challenge held at Dare Valley Country Park. Participants choose how many laps to run within the seven hour window; the event requires a minimum distance of 3 km. The course is on well maintained footpaths, described as flat trail with views of the surrounding countryside and suitable for a road trainer. The regular lap length is 7 km (4.37 miles) but may be adjusted to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. There are 3 km and 5 km turn points within the lap to help comply with age distance rules.
Age and entry limits are stated: minimum age 12 years; anyone wishing to run over 45 km must be 20 years or older, and 18-19 year olds can run up to 45 km. Maximum entrants are 300 and entries close shortly before the event.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are provided for half-marathon, mega-half, marathon, 50 km and ultra achievements. All finishers receive a goody bag, with a vegan goody bag option.
There is an aid and drinks table at the start/finish of each lap with a selection of snacks and vegan options. Venue facilities include toilets, a cafe, and free parking.
