Event overview

The VOGUM 2026 is a 40 mile ultramarathon on the Wales Coast Path in the Vale of Glamorgan on 6 June 2026. The route runs from Porthcawl to Penarth and covers an elevation gain of 3,054 ft. Organisers state there are no time limits for completion. Entry includes a Pegasus medal, post-race care, staffed checkpoints and event crew.

Course and support

The course is largely coastal: about 85% trail and 15% road, with scenery that includes beaches, cliffs, Ogmore Castle and a set of stepping stones. There are 4 fully stocked checkpoints along the route offering snacks, fresh fruit, hot and cold drinks, seating and power banks. Route maps and files are supplied via Plotaroute and can be downloaded for navigation devices. Mandatory kit listed by the organiser includes appropriate footwear, a water carrier (1 litre), mobile phone, a headlamp or other light source, a foil blanket, waterproof jacket and a rucksack.
