The swim is a 500 m short-course pool swim in a 25 m pool; swimmers are organized into heats by estimated swim time and swim up and down lanes. The bike leg is a 20 km road ride. The run is a 4 km road course. Transition 1 and Transition 2 are in a single zone at the south end of the Saanich Commonwealth Place parking lot. Helmets must be on and fastened before exiting transition and athletes must pass the mount line when starting the bike.

Additional information

Parking at the venue is very limited; a gravel overflow lot is available and street parking across from the Elk Lake entrance on Elk Lake Drive may be used. Electric bikes and bikes with kickstands are not allowed. Spectators may use the pool stands for the swim and may watch along the course. Volunteers are present along the run course. The event supports local charities through fundraising, with options to set up a fundraising page or donate; the highest fundraiser receives a prize.
