- 500 m swim
- 20 km bike
- 4 km run
Course and logistics
The swim is a 500 m pool swim in a short-course 25 m pool. Participants are placed into heats based on their estimated swim time and swim up and down lanes until the distance is complete. Transition 1 and Transition 2 are in a single zone in the south end of the Saanich Commonwealth Place parking lot. Helmets must be on and fastened before exiting transition; riders leave past the mount line for the road bike course. The run is a 4 km road loop with volunteers on course.
Parking on site is very limited; a gravel overflow lot and roadside parking across from the Elk Lake entrance are used. Any bike is permitted except electric bikes; bikes with kickstands are not allowed. Spectators can watch from the pool stands and along the course; an athlete village with food and a displayed fire truck will be on site. Fundraising supports local charities, with a prize for the top fundraiser. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
