Event overview
The Saskia Says Beginner Triathlon is a sprint-distance triathlon held at Saanich Commonwealth Pool in Victoria, BC. The event is described as introductory and organized to welcome people new to triathlon. Registration is non-refundable and transfers are not allowed. Non Tri-BC members must purchase Triathlon BC day-of-race insurance or hold a Tri-BC membership.

Course and logistics
The swim takes place in the pool at Commonwealth Pool. Transition 1 and Transition 2 are located together in the south end of the pool parking lot. The bike course is a 20 km road route described as a two-loop out-and-back along Elk Lake Drive, returning to transition for the run. The 4 km run follows part of the bike course and continues through nearby neighbourhoods with slight elevations around the pool area. Bike traffic control is provided on the bike course.
Registration, pickup and fundraising
Event packet pickup is at Trek Bikes, 338 Catherine St, on Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Registration includes a silicone swim cap, custom event socks, a supported swim course, traffic-controlled bike course, post-race nourishment, and volunteer support. The event raises funds for local charities including the Saanich Fire Fighters' Charitable Foundation and End2End; fundraising activity and prizes are part of the event.
