The SASH Stepping Up Awareness 5K is a running and walking event scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the San Antonio State Hospital grounds. The course offers views of the hospital and the Tower of the Americas. The event is professionally timed.
Event Details
The event allows participants to bring dogs on leashes and baby strollers. Volunteer groups are present to cheer for participants. The top three male and top three female finishers receive prizes.
All proceeds from the event go to the Volunteer Services Council, which supports the lives of hospital patients during recovery.
Registration and Logistics
Registration fees are tiered: $40 for February and March, $50 for April and May, and $20 for state employees. The policy states there are no refunds, and the event will be held regardless of weather.
Packet pick-up is available on Thursday, April 30th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Embassy Suites - Brooks Hotel & Spa at 7610 S. New Braunfels Ave., San Antonio, TX 78235.
