Sarasota Triathlon : Sarasota, FL
The Sarasota Triathlon is a multi-distance triathlon held at Nathan Benderson Park, a 600 acre park with a 400 acre artificial lake. The event includes Open, Sprint, and Olympic distances with separate swim, bike, and run legs.
For the Sprint and Olympic distances the bike course is draft legal. Drafting is permitted on the bike course, which allows athletes to ride in packs and use group tactics. USAT draft legal rules apply and no aerobars or triathlon bikes are allowed on the bike course. The bike course uses a new looped layout for those distances.
An Open distance is offered with shorter swim, bike, and run legs intended for athletes new to the sport. Course maps and an athlete guide are available for details about each leg and the layout of the swim, bike, and run courses.
The park location is noted for winter conditions with daily mean temperatures in the low to mid 60s. Pricing tiers and categories are published for individual, military, student, youth, first responder, relay, aquabike, and duathlon entries. Optional add ons and processing fees are applied during registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
