Santa Scamper - Appleton
The Community First Credit Union Santa Scamper is a one-mile run/walk held in downtown Appleton that precedes the Annual Downtown Appleton Christmas parade. The course starts at the corner of College Avenue and State Street and finishes at Jones Park. The event supports the St. Joseph Food Program; all participants are asked to donate one nonperishable food item.
All participants receive a commemorative hat, a Dairy Queen Dilly Bar at the finish, and a coupon for a free regular burger from JD’s Drive-In. Virtual participants receive a commemorative hat and equivalent coupons. Top finishers in specified age and gender categories receive awards at the finish line or a tag that can be redeemed for an award at the DJ table.
Registration follows a tiered fee schedule: July 1–31 $10, August 1–October 31 $12, and November 1–24 $14; online registration remains available until the race sells out and the virtual event follows the same fee schedule but closes earlier. Transfers are permitted until November 19. Packet pick-up and on-site registration occur on the day before the race at Appleton Beer Factory on College Avenue; on-site registration is cash or check or Venmo and requires a nonperishable food donation for the St. Joseph Food Program.
