Sovereign State 5K - Winneconne Cross Country
The Sovereign State 5K is a community 5 kilometer run and walk held as a fundraiser for the Winneconne Cross Country team. The event takes place on July 18, 2026, with Winneconne High School serving as both the start and the finish. Parking is available in the high school parking lot and a course map is provided by the organizers.
Entry fees are structured as follows: $20 until July 4 (midnight) and $25 from July 4 through July 19. Organizers encourage participants to register prior to the event for planning purposes. Day of registration is available at the concession stand by the high school track; day of registration hours are specified by the event staff. The event does not offer refunds.
Awards are given by gender and age group, and award announcements occur after the race. Race divisions listed by the organizers include 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-50, and 60 and over. Funds raised in past years have supported team shirts, awards, state shirts, state meals, and the awards banquet.
