Sanders' Saunter Charity Race

Sanders' Saunter is an annual trail running event held at Clinton State Park near Lawrence, KS. The race is organized by the Lawrence Trail Hawks and offers multiple trail distances:

• 50K
• 25K
• 10K

The course starts and finishes at Shelter 1, Corps of Engineers, and follows marked trails including white, yellow, blue, and connector segments. Runners will ascend and descend the ridge of Sanders Mound. The 25K course includes a single trip to the mound; the 50K consists of two loops of the 25K course. There is a cutoff for 50K runners to begin their second lap. 25K and 50K entrants are required to carry a handheld bottle or hydration pack. Drop bags are allowed at Lands End and the Start/Finish aid station.

Aid stations are positioned along the course including locations near Lake Henry, Lands Ends, and the Start/Finish. All finishers receive a handcrafted award specific to their distance and all entrants receive a crewneck sweatshirt; size is guaranteed only for registrations by Oct 22. Top three male and female finishers in each race receive awards and a first place Non Binary finisher in each race receives an award.

This is a dog friendly event with the requirement that dogs remain leashed and controlled and that owners clean up after their dogs. The event uses a Hero Runner charity program with fundraising levels of $250, $500, and $750 that include varying rewards and registration support.
