Sand Harbor 5K and 10K
The Sand Harbor 5K and 10K are trail runs held at Sand Harbor State Park on Lake Tahoe’s East Shore. The courses use an out and back route on the Tahoe East Shore Trail and begin and end at the park. The venue features granite boulders and clear coves and provides an alpine lakeshore setting.

The event takes place on October 31, 2026. Entry fees listed for registrations received by October 30 are $65 for the 5K and 10K and $60 for youth and senior categories. Youth is defined as 18 years and under and senior as 65 years and older. Discounts are available by request for clubs and teams, challenged athletes (30 percent), and military participants (20 percent); military ID is required at packet pick up and check in.
Included with registration are an event T shirt, a free digital race photo, post event music, food and beverages, recovery food such as fruit, and on site medical staff. A costume or attire contest is held at the finish area with relaxed judging that involves fellow runners and prizes for winners. Awards are given by gender and five year age groups based on age as of December 31 of the race year; an age group must have at least five participants by gender to receive an award.
