The Racing Gnome Snowshoe Race

The Racing Gnome Snowshoe Race is an annual snowshoe running event organized by the Donner Party Mountain Runners in Truckee, California. The event takes place at the Prosser OHV Parking Area and features two course distances.

The registration fee is $25. Donner Party Mountain Runners members receive a $5 discount with a member discount code and receive additional event swag. A limited number of snowshoes are available for use thanks to a donation from Alpenglow Sports; these loaner snowshoes are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Several local Truckee-Tahoe shops also rent snowshoes.

Parking is somewhat limited in the lot and on the other side of Highway 89, so carpooling from town is recommended. Course previews for the 5K and 10K are provided. Registration closes on Saturday, February 7 at 11:59 PM PT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
