Sanborn Trail Challenge : Sanborn County Park, Saratoga CA
The event offers multiple trail race distances through Sanborn County Park, set in mixed evergreen forest with redwood, Douglas fir, oak, madrone, and tanbark oak. Trails are mostly single track and are described as mountainous and technically demanding, with substantial wooded shade.
Distances include:
- Kids Run
- 1 Mile
- 4 Mile
- 8 Mile
- Half Marathon
Each course includes measured ascent: the Kids Run has minimal ascent, the 1 Mile course has modest ascent, the 4 Mile gains about 1,315 ft, the 8 Mile about 2,634 ft, and the Half Marathon about 4,528 ft. Courses are marked with ribbons, signs, and gypsum; yellow ribbons and large arrows indicate a sharp turn between Sanborn Trail and Peterson Trail.
Aid is provided from the Start/Finish area as a full aid station. The 8 Mile course has a full aid stop at the halfway point; the Half Marathon has full aid at multiple points. One portable toilet is located at the start and additional full service restrooms are available a short walk away. Drop bag service is not available.
Parking requires a self-registration fee per vehicle. Entry fees are non-refundable; transfers to future TCTRuns are permitted if arranged at least 24 hours before the event.
