CVC San Diego Triathlon
The CVC San Diego Triathlon takes place Sunday, August 16, 2026 in Chula Vista at the San Diego Bayfront. The event is the second race in the San Diego Triathlon Series and is part of the Triple Crown of Triathlon. It is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
The event uses a single park venue for start, transition, finish and a post race garden area. Raceday options include triathlon, duathlon, aquabike, relays, youth races and a separate 5K run or walk. The course is set along San Diego Bay with calm, warm water and predominantly flat terrain. Participants receive a finisher medal, event shirt and access to the post race garden. A margarita bar and beer are listed among post race offerings.
Free Triathlon 101 classes and training and transition clinics are offered in connection with the series. The event is listed as open to a range of ages, with specific age minimums for each race option.

- International Triathlon: 1000 m swim, 38K bike, 10K run, ages 13 and over
- Sprint Triathlon: 500 m swim, 19K bike, 5K run, ages 13 and over
- Sprint Aquabike: 500 m swim, 19K bike, ages 13 and over
- Mini Triathlon: 200 m swim, 9K bike, 2.4K run, ages 11 and over
- Itsy Bitsy Triathlon: 100 m swim, 4K bike, 1.2K run, ages 7 to 10
- Sprint Relay: 500 m swim, 19K bike, 5K run, ages 13 and over
- Sprint Duathlon: 1 mile run, 19K bike, 5K run, ages 13 and over
- 5K Run Walk: 3.1 miles on a flat course
