San Clemente Ocean Festival
San Clemente Ocean Festival is a volunteer organization event held at San Clemente Pier in San Clemente, California on July 18 and 19, 2026. The organization promotes ocean safety, environmental awareness and community support through athletic beach and ocean competitions.
The festival operates a one fee all events entry. That entry entitles a participant to enter any listed event and includes a commemorative SCOF tee, SCOF swim cap and a competitors kit.
Saturday features multi-discipline lifeguard and junior lifeguard competitions, plus separate youth and surf events. The International Lifeguard Competition includes surf races, rescue relays, surf ski races, ironman format races, NDA dory races, paddleboard races and a landline rescue relay. The Junior Lifeguard Competition includes beach flags, surf races, run-swim-run and paddleboard races. Separate Saturday entries include the Dolphin Dash youth runs and the Pier Bowl Surf Classic with open and age-group divisions.
Sunday comprises a set of beach and ocean events. These include the 5K Beach Run, Biathlon (1k swim, 5k run), Open Ocean Paddle (approximately 5.5 miles), One Mile Ocean Swim, Run-Swim-Run, SUP sprint and the Splash and Dash relay.
