San Clemente Ocean Festival
The San Clemente Ocean Festival is a two-day event held on July 18 and July 19, 2026. The event takes place at the San Clemente Pier in California. It is organized by a volunteer-run group focused on ocean safety, the environment, and the community.
Registration and Fee Structure
The festival uses a "One Fee - All Events Entry" model for certain event groups. This means a single fee grants entry to all events within that specific entry category. Registration for most events opens on March 21, 2026. Entry typically includes a commemorative SCOF t-shirt, a swim cap, and a competitor's kit.
Saturday Events
Saturday's program features competitions focused on lifeguarding skills and youth events.
- International Lifeguard Competition: A multi-event contest including Surf Race, Rescue Relay, Surf Ski Race, International Ironman, Dory Races, Paddleboard Rescue Relay, Paddleboard Sprint, and Landline Rescue Relay.
- Junior Lifeguard Competition: For younger participants, with events like Beach Flags, Surf Race, Run-Swim-Run, and a Paddleboard Race.
- Separate Saturday Entry Events: The Dolphin Dash and the Grom's Rule "Push-in" Surf Contest, which is for participants aged 7 and under.
Sunday Events
Sunday's schedule includes a wide range of beach and ocean sports.
- Beach Events Entry: This single entry covers several events: a 5K Beach Run, a Biathlon (Swim 1K, Run 5K), an Open Ocean Paddle, a One Mile Ocean Swim, a Run-Swim-Run, a SUP Sprint, and a Splash & Dash Relay.
- Separate Sunday Entry Events: Individual entries are also available for the 5K Beach Run, the Grom's Rule Surf Contest (which may accept walk-up registration), and a Bodysurfing Invitational.
- Paddle Events: A separate entry covers Open Ocean Paddling (SUP, Prone, Kayak) and SUP Surf Sprint.
