Live Oak Odyssey Trail Runs
Live Oak Odyssey is a fixed-time trail running event at O'Neill Regional Park in Trabuco Canyon, CA on Saturday, November 14, 2026. The event is run on a multi-loop course with timed 3, 6 and 8 hour formats.
- 3 hour
- 6 hour
- 8 hour
The course is an approximately 2.75 mile loop with about 500 feet of elevation gain per loop and a maximum elevation near 1,349 feet. Trails pass through heavily wooded areas of coast live oak and sycamore and across hillsides with cactus, wild buckwheat, sagebrush and chaparral vegetation including scrub oak, buckthorn and mountain mahogany. The route includes uphills, downhills, single track and double track.
From the start/finish the course follows Arroyo Trabuco Trail, a paved road to Live Oak Trail (about 1.3 miles), a right onto Coyote Canyon Trail (about 0.5 mile) and then continues onto Coyote Trail back to the start. The course will be marked with pink ribbons.
There is one main aid station at the start/finish offering sweet and salty snacks, PB&J, fresh fruit, potatoes, soft drinks, GU roctane salt pills and hydration products provided by Tailwind Nutrition. Crews may use the main aid station area but must remain at their vehicle and not eat from aid station tables. Parking at the park requires a $5 fee paid in exact change; OC Parks passes are not valid.
Participants must complete a full loop for it to count. No pacers and no pets are allowed on course. Entrants receive event swag and a finisher medal; custom awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers in each event. Camping is available onsite but requires advance reservation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
