Sam's KIDS 5K : Dewey Beach, August 2, 2026
Sam's KIDS 5K is a community 5-kilometer road event held in Dewey Beach, Delaware. The race takes place near Hyatt Place Dewey Beach and The Lighthouse Restaurant at 124 Dickinson Street and uses the Rehoboth Bay area as a backdrop.
Participants receive an official Sam's KIDS 5K tee. Post-race provisions include a breakfast buffet with juices, fruit, pastries, assorted quiche, pecan French toast, bacon, sausage, potato hash and coffee. Post-race beverages include craft drafts, bottled beer and CRUSHES. Live DJ entertainment is provided after the run.
Registration pricing for the 5K is listed as $30, with a youth rate of $25 for ages 0 to 18; prices increase after February 28, 2026. Bib pick-up and on-site registration are scheduled at The Lighthouse Restaurant on the morning of the event.
Awards include overall male and female results, overall masters male and female, and top three in each age group male and female. Age groups run 9 and under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Overall and masters awards use gun time; age-group awards use chip time.
The event is organized by Sam's KIDS, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit formerly known as Delaware KIDS Fund that supports children through animal therapy, scholarships, school food pantries and other services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
