Sam's KIDS 5K
The Sam's KIDS 5K is a running event in Dewey Beach, Delaware. It is the 3rd annual edition of the race.
The event takes place on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The start and finish location is at 124 Dickinson Street, near the Hyatt Place Dewey Beach & The Lighthouse Restaurant.
Race Details
The event features one main distance: a 5K run. Registration is priced at $30, with a discounted rate of $25 for participants aged 18 and under. The standard registration price increases after February 28, 2026.
Participant Information
Bib pickup and on-site registration are available on race day from 7:00 AM until 7:55 AM at The Lighthouse Restaurant.
Participants receive an official race t-shirt. After the run, a post-race breakfast buffet is provided, featuring items like juice, fruit, pastries, French toast, quiche, bacon, sausage, potato hash, and coffee. Craft beers and other drinks are also available. A live DJ provides entertainment with views of Rehoboth Bay.
Awards
Awards are given for overall male and female finishers, as well as overall male and female masters. The top three in each age group also receive awards. Age groups are: 9 and under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Organization
The race benefits Sam’s KIDS, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The organization provides support for children in distressed situations through animal therapy, academic scholarships, school food pantries, and other services. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
