Samar 4 and 8 Miler : Wolf River Trails, Memphis, TN
The Samar 4 and 8 Miler is a trail running event on the Wolf River Trails in Memphis. The course is mostly single track, described as flat and very runnable. The event uses a 4 mile loop: the 4 mile entry completes one loop and the 8 mile entry completes two loops.
Facilities and logistics are provided at the trailhead and parking area. Porta potties will be available in the parking lot and at the Start/Finish area. The event is chip timed; runners are asked to wear their bib on the front so their time is recorded. The only aid station is at mile 4 at the Start/Finish line; water and trail snack foods will be offered there and additional postrace refreshments include soft drinks, donuts, watermelon, and cooling towels. The race is cupless, so participants should plan personal hydration accordingly.
Additional notes from the organizer: packet pickup is to be determined, no refunds or rollover credits are offered, and Breakaway Running Store provides the age group awards. RV camping is available at the RV Park at Agricenter International within walking distance of the start, with electrical hook ups, water, dump station, restrooms, and showers.
