Forest Half Marathon and 7 Miler
The Forest 7 Miler and Half Marathon take place on the Wolf River Trails in Memphis, TN, organized by Mamba Trail Runners. The course uses smooth, flowing singletrack through a winter forest and is described as mostly flat, fast, and highly runnable. The Half Marathon follows the Mamba 100 route with a shortened section to create the 13.1 mile distance. The 7 Miler highlights scenic sections of the same trail system.
Practical race details include generous cutoff times and fully stocked aid stations. The 7 Miler has a fully stocked aid station near Mile 3.5; Half Marathon runners have a second fully stocked aid station near Mile 8.5. The Start/Finish Line Aid Station offers hot and cold food, water, sports drink, music, and post-race refreshments. The event is cupless, so runners must carry their own water in a handheld bottle, hydration vest, or similar. Runners should follow orange ground flags and course markings, keeping flags on the right side where possible. Two course sections have two-way traffic near the Bridge Aid Station and the Wolf River Bridge on the Half Marathon course. Participants are asked to wear race bibs on the front for photography. All finishers receive a custom Forest finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
