Devil Dog Ultras : Triangle, Virginia

Devil Dog Ultras is a trail ultramarathon held at Prince William Forest Park (Cabin Camp 5) offering timed races over multiple distances.

Distances:

  • 100 mile
  • 100K
  • 50K

The course is a loop layout that is primarily single-track with occasional roots, rocks, brief technical sections, spurts of fire road, and rolling hills without substantial climbs. The first loop for all races is 23 miles; subsequent loops for the 100 mile and 100K are 19.5 miles. The 100K completes three loops and the 100 mile completes five. The 50K completes one loop plus an additional 9 mile loop. The course is well marked.

Each loop includes three staffed aid stations (Camp Remi start/finish, Camp Gunny, Camp Toofy) and three unmanned water-only resupply points (RP Alpha, Bravo, Charlie). Crew access is allowed at Camp Remi and Camp Toofy only; there is no crew access at Camp Gunny or the resupply points. Staffed aid stations provide hot food options and on-course support.

Cutoff times are 10 hours for the 50K, 20 hours for the 100K, and 32 hours for the 100 mile. Entry is limited to 300 runners. General registration opens Jan 1, 2026 and closes Nov 27, 2026 or when the race fills; a waitlist will open if events sell out. To enter the 100 mile, runners must have completed a 50 mile race within the previous two years. There is no entry requirement for the 100K.

The event offers 75 bunkhouse beds at Camp Remi for registered runners on a first come, first served basis. Each bed is $30 total for Friday and Saturday nights; occupants must vacate by noon Sunday. Bunkhouse vehicles will be parked in a remote lot about 1 mile from the start area and shuttle service will be provided Friday evening and after the race. Runners unable to attend may transfer bibs to another qualified runner for a $20 fee if completed by Nov 5; refunds and deferrals are not offered.

The Devil Dog Dynasty Challenge records multi year completion sequences. Specific consecutive year sequences earn distinct rewards and previous years count toward the challenge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
