Event overview
Devil Dog Ultras is a trail running event at Prince William Forest Park (Cabin Camp 5) in Triangle, VA. The event offers the following distances:
- 100-mile
- 100K
- 50K
Runners must finish within published time limits: 10 hours for the 50K, 20 hours for the 100K, and 32 hours for the 100-mile. Entry is limited to 300 runners and a waitlist opens once the fields fill.
Course and logistics
The course is a looped trail primarily on single-track, with occasional roots, rocks, brief technical sections, spurts of fire road, and rolling hills but no substantial climbs. The first loop for all races is 23 miles. Subsequent loops are 19.5 miles for the 100-mile and 100K. The 100K completes three loops and the 100-mile completes five loops. The 50K completes one loop plus an additional 9-mile loop. The course will be well marked.
Each loop has three staffed aid stations at Camp Remi (start/finish), Camp Gunny, and Camp Toofy, plus three unmanned water resupply points named RP Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie. Crew access is allowed only at Camp Remi and Camp Toofy; crew are not permitted at Camp Gunny or the resupply points. Aid stations will offer hot food choices.
Registration, lodging and challenge
Base entry fees listed are $275 for the 100-mile, $230 for the 100K, and $115 for the 50K. Bunkhouse lodging at Camp Remi offers 75 beds on a first-come, first-served basis; each bed is $30 for Friday and Saturday nights and must be vacated by noon Sunday. A loyalty program, the Devil Dog Dynasty Challenge, awards items for completing specified distances in consecutive years; results from 2023 and 2024 count toward the challenge.
