Event Overview
Devil Dog Ultras is a trail running event held in Prince William Forest Park in Triangle, Virginia. It offers three race distances: 100-mile, 100K, and 50K.
Course Details
The course consists of loops run primarily on single-track trails with roots, rocks, and some brief technical sections. It also includes fire roads and rolling hills. All races begin with a 23-mile loop. The 100-mile and 100K races then complete additional 19.5-mile loops. The 50K race completes the initial loop plus a separate 9-mile loop. The course is described as very well-marked.
Aid & Support
Each main loop has three fully stocked aid stations and three unmanned water stations. Crew access is permitted only at two specific aid stations. The event notes that runners can participate easily without a crew due to volunteer support.
Time Limits & Requirements
Time limits are 10 hours for the 50K, 20 hours for the 100K, and 32 hours for the 100-mile race. Registration for the 100-mile race requires proof of finishing a 50-mile race within the previous two years. There is no qualification requirement for the 100K distance.
Registration & Logistics
General registration opens on January 1, 2026, with a total cap of 300 runners. A bib transfer option is available until November 5, 2026, for a fee. Lodging is offered in on-site bunkhouses for a fee on a first-come, first-served basis. The event also features a loyalty program, the Devil Dog Dynasty Challenge, which rewards runners with gear for completing specific race distances in consecutive years.
