Salute to Service 5K & 1 Miler : Suffolk, VA
The Salute to Service 5K & 1 Miler takes place on November 7, 2026, at Downtown Festival Park, 215 W. Washington Street, Suffolk, VA 23434. The event is presented by Tidewater Striders and the City of Suffolk Parks and Recreation.

The course is described as fast and flat, beginning in downtown Suffolk and running through the Riverview neighborhood. There is one on-course aid station providing water at about the 1.5 mile/kilometer mark of the 5K.
Packet pickup is available early at MoMac Brewery, 3228 Academy Ave, Portsmouth, VA 23703, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on the Friday before the race; additional race day packet pickup is provided near the starting area. Registered 5K and 1 Mile participants receive a premium T-shirt, and all finishers receive medals.
Post-race amenities include onsite hospitality and refreshments with an after-party featuring a live band, beer, pizza, snacks, and cold beverages. Awards are planned for overall and age group top finishers in the 5K run and race walk, awards for top walkers, and age group awards for the 1 Mile.
