Event Overview
The Salted Vines Wine Run takes place at the Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery in Frankford, Delaware. This event features a 5 km run or walk that follows a cross-country style course on the winery property. The route consists of two laps and includes various scenic views around the vineyard. While portions of the path have uneven footing, it is accessible for both runners and walkers. Participants also have the option to complete just one lap and finish early.
Course and Participation
The event is open to participants of various ages. Minors are permitted to join at a discounted rate which excludes the wine-related items. Strollers are allowed on the course, though the terrain is uneven. Due to USDA regulations regarding produce farms, dogs are not permitted on the property.
Registration for the event includes several items:
- A 5 km soft cotton t-shirt
- A shatterproof, collapsible wine glass
- A finisher medal
- A chip-timed race bib
- A pour of wine for participants aged 21 and over
Awards and Scoring
Age group awards are available for the top three finishers in several ten-year categories. These categories range from 19 and under up to 80 and over. Competitive runners who wish to be eligible for these awards must start in the first wave. Results are posted online, and winners can collect their custom awards at the registration table on the day of the race.
