Lancaster Triathlon
City of Lancaster Triathlon club presents the inaugural Lancaster Triathlon on 1 May 2027 at Salt Ayre Sports Centre in Lancaster. The event is part of the North West Junior Series and includes junior categories plus an adult sprint distance.
The venue groups a swimming pool, a cycle track and a running track in close proximity. The bike element uses the Salt Ayre cycle track, a 1.3 km circuit that is traffic free. Age limits are set relative to the end of 2027; the minimum event age is 8.
Races
- TriStar Start (age 8) : 50m swim, 1.3km bike, 600m run
- TriStar 1 (ages 9-10) : 150m swim, 3.9km bike, 1.2km run
- TriStar 2 (ages 11-12) : 200m swim, 5.2km bike, 1.8km run
- TriStar 3 (ages 13-14) : 300m swim, 7.8km bike, 2.4km run
- Youth & Junior (ages 15-19) : 400m swim, 9.1km bike, 2.5km run
- Adult (sprint distance, 17 years and over) : 400m swim, 20km bike, 5km run
Entry details note an early bird and a later fee structure for junior and adult races, with entries opening 10 October 2026 and closing 30 April 2027. Event parking is at AXA House, Northgate LA3 3PA with a £5.00 charge per vehicle. All participants receive a bespoke finishers medal.
